CIPS - Loyalist May 2009 LUNCHEON

Our topic this month for our Trends and Changes in ICT Series is “propel Energy – Improving Productivity on Large Energy Construction Projects”.

TOPIC:  “propel Energy – Improving Industrial Construction Productivity Through ICT”

Speaker: Richard Jones, Maritime Regional Director, xwave, and President, propel ICT

Event Overview – In this session Richard will speak about the potential ways that Information and Communications Technology can be used to improve industrial construction productivity.  This presentation will be based on a report produced by the Construction Technology Centre Atlantic at UNB, which focused on how effective use of ICT could impact the construction productivity on large energy megaprojects.  Given the slate of large energy projects forecast for the energy hub in Saint John, the impact of ICT on productivity improvements has the potential to be worth millions of dollars of cost savings during construction.
